The Lancet Commission study on risk factors for dementia updated 

The Lancet Commission study has identified two new risk factors for dementia: untreated vision loss and high low-density lipoprotein (LDL)/bad cholesterol.   

In findings presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in the US, the updated Lancet Commission (2024) on dementia prevention, intervention, and care noted that 45% of cases of dementia worldwide could be prevented or delayed by addressing the 14 modifiable risk factors the study identifies.
