Young onset dementia resources released by DYNAMIC project

The DYNAMIC research project has released two new resources to improve support for people with young onset dementia. They focus on raising social care workers’ awareness of young onset dementia and the financial impact of YOD.

DYNAMIC (Dementia in Younger Ages Mapping Ideal Care) was funded by the NIHR Research for Social Care programme. It was led by researchers from the Universities of Bradford and York and focused on improving social care planning and provision for people with young onset dementia and their families in England.

DYNAMIC identified two priority areas – to raise awareness amongst social care staff about the specific needs of people with young onset dementia and provide strategies to manage the financial impact of living with YOD. The resulting resources have been co-produced by people living with young onset dementia, professional staff and other relevant experts.
