Blood biomarker trial underway in the Read-Out study

Nearly 4000 people from 28 NHS Memory Clinics are being invited to sign up to the five-year Read-Out (REAl World Dementia OUTcomes) study, led by the University of Oxford.

The Read-Out study is part of the Blood Biomarker Challenge (which we reported on here: https://journalofdementiacare.co.uk/blood-tests-to-detect-dementia), and aims to assess a variety of blood tests for Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia to see how user-friendly they are in clinical settings.

Professor Vanessa Raymont is leading the Read-Out study and spoke about her work in a webinar she did for us in October 2024 – You can watch the recording here: https://youtu.be/IWw01RN5M_s?si=IIoTNPPIrVsT-8Nl
