Describing itself as a “creative coalition for justice” the group Reimagining Dementia are launching a campaign called “Taking it to the streets”. It will be calling on people to sign their petition and will be supporting those who want to host public-facing events or activities. Taking place from September 18 – 24, the campaign is intended “break the silence and shame” around dementia and to make change through “connection, creativity and activism”. Among the many events already planned are an exhibition of art work by people living with dementia with a drop-in print activity; a dementia friendly concert by professional musicians; and a memory café afternoon.
