Following on from the 2023 ‘Hope in Ageing’ poetry competition organised by the charity Embracing Age, 2024’s competition theme has been announced as ‘Joy in Ageing’.
The competition, which is open to anyone over 50, is inviting entries in various formats – poetry, art and multimedia.
The organisers say:
“We invite you to capture the essence of ageing in its most joyful forms. We believe this Joy in Ageing competition will serve as a powerful reminder that ageing is a journey filled with laughter, love, and continued discovery. Share your voice, unleash your creativity, and help us rewrite the narrative on ageing – one brushstroke and verse at a time.”
The competition opened on 1 February 2024 and closes on 30 April 2024. Entries can be submitted by post or email. Shortlisted poems and artwork will be published in an anthology to celebrate International Older Peoples Day on the 1st October 2024.
